Short Biography

  • Born in Nürnberg,Germany
  • At the age of 15 or 16 my dad and my cousin taught me how to play guitar.
A few years later, a friend of mine took me out to a concert of one of our favourite bands these days,Humble Pie. Greg Ridley, their bass player, kicked ass and just blew me away and I knew what I had to do: I worked at the local paper factory all summer long until I had enough money to buy me a bass guitar, a Fender Precision, (natural finish w. maple neck).
It looked like the one Greg played, of course, and it's still mine.
I played in a couple of local bands and finished school (Melanchthon Gymnasium Nürnberg) in 1980. Then I wanted to become a professional musician.
Although I am mainly self-taught I was taking private lessons (vocals, piano, music theory) so as to get a better understanding of what I wanted to do. You have to know the rules before you break them (Eddie van Halen).
  • In the early 80's I joined the hard rock band "Maggie's Madness"( 2 albums)
  • "L.A. Rock" ( Rock, the band toured mainly the U.S.Forces club circuit)
